The Foundational Courses introduce essential studio techniques, including slab construction, coil methods, and guided instruction on the potter’s wheel. Students also explore surface treatments, finishing methods, and kiln-ready preparation to develop strong technical fundamentals.

The Intermediate Course is tailored for returning students and practiced makers seeking to refine precision, increase scale, and explore complex forms. Emphasis is placed on advanced wheel skills, form development, and elevating craftsmanship through focused studio practice.

Our 8-Week Foundational Pottery Classes are the perfect place to build your skills with clay. Each class covers the same core techniques—from wheel throwing and trimming to glazing—so you'll gain a strong foundation in pottery. While the curriculum stays consistent, every instructor brings their own unique teaching style, personality, and creative approach, making each class a one-of-a-kind experience.

MONDAY 6-9PM AUGUST 10th- OCTOBER 5th, 2026

Join Quinn Buckler for our 8-Week Foundations Pottery Class, where you'll build confidence on the wheel while learning the core techniques of ceramics. With a background in sculpture, mould-making, and handbuilding, Quinn brings a thoughtful, creative perspective that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and a deeper connection to the material.

Our Tuesday Afternoon 8-Week Foundations Pottery Class with Master Potter and ceramic artist Noël Yardley has been a studio favourite for years. With decades of experience as a maker, educator, and designer, Noel brings a wealth of technical knowledge, refined craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of the pottery process. Students will build strong foundational skills while learning from an artist whose practice bridges sculptural ceramics, design, and production pottery.

Our Teen Foundations Pottery Class is led by Tammy Dang, a passionate ceramic artist and Craft & Design (Ceramics) student at Sheridan College. With a focus on handbuilding and a fresh perspective as an emerging artist, Tammy brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a supportive approach to working with young makers. Her class encourages teens to explore clay, develop foundational skills, and build confidence as they begin their own creative journeys.

Explore the expressive possibilities of clay in this four-week handbuilding course led by Toronto ceramic artist Raj Bharaj. Drawing on her South Asian heritage and years of intuitive experience with clay, Raj brings a thoughtful, experimental approach that encourages curiosity, creativity, and personal expression.

Through a variety of handbuilding techniques, you'll discover the possibilities of form, texture, and surface while creating both sculptural and functional ceramic pieces. Raj's process invites experimentation and exploration, helping students develop a deeper connection to the material while building confidence in their creative practice.

Whether you're completely new to clay or an experienced ceramicist looking to expand your skills, this welcoming class offers a supportive environment to experiment, connect with others, and discover new ways of working with clay.

Take your throwing skills to the next level with this focused intensive designed to build confidence, consistency, and control at the wheel. In this class, the focus is on repetition and practice—you’ll throw, refine, and throw again, developing muscle memory and a deeper understanding of the clay without the pressure of creating finished pieces.

With his extensive experience as a Master Potter, Noël brings expert knowledge of clay bodies, technique, and the throwing process. His guidance will help you troubleshoot challenges, refine your approach, and develop a stronger connection with the material through dedicated practice.

Designed for students who have completed at least two Foundations Pottery Classes, this course is the next step in developing your wheel-throwing skills. With a focus on advancing technique, refining control, and exploring more complex forms, students will build on their foundational knowledge while learning to create pieces with greater intention and precision.

As a Master Potter, Noel brings decades of experience, expert knowledge of clay bodies, and a deep understanding of form and function. His guidance will help students troubleshoot challenges, push their abilities further, and develop a more confident and refined approach to their pottery practice.
